51 45 180 Removing And Installing Trim For Instrument Panel, Bottom Left: Notes

Read and comply with safety regulations  for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt pretensioners.

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

USA national version: 

NOTE: To facilitate removal, move driver's seat fully towards rear.

Release screws (1).

Unclip trim (2) downwards from catches (3).

Installation: 

Catches (3) must not be damaged.

USA national version: 

Release screws (1) on airbag module (2).

Tightening torque, see 72 12 07AZ in 72 12 AIRBAG MODULES and/or 72 12 AIRBAG MODULES .

Unlock associated plug connection  and disconnect. Remove trim (3) from instrument panel.

NOTE: Trim (3) removed for purposes of clarity.
