41 21 920 Replacing Left Inner B-Pillar Reinforcement (Side Panel Removed)

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific procedure . Refer to 41 00... Spot-Weld Bonding Steel Parts .

Use only approved spot-welding apparatus for repairs! Refer to 41 00... Workshop Equipment .

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Following new body parts are required:

(1) Reinforcement, B-pillar, inner

Open weld joints in area (1).

Open spot-weld bonded joints in area (2). Refer to 41 00... Opening Adhesive Bonds .

Remove B-pillar reinforcement.

Installation:

Apply window glass adhesive to cavity acoustic baffle in area (3). Refer to 41 00... Installing A Cavity Acoustic Baffle (Expanded) .

Warning - fire hazard!

Apply window glass adhesive to cavity acoustic baffle in area (4) only after welding new component.

Adjust new part in conjunction with side panel to fit.
