41 63 068 Adjusting Convertible Top Compartment Lid

The BODY GAP DIMENSIONS serve as the basis for adjustment work.

NOTE: Following components must be correctly fitted and adjusted:

Rear lid . Refer to 41 62 014 Adjusting Rear Lid .

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

Only open convertible top compartment lid and rear lid individually.

Adjusting hinges:

Open convertible top.

Open rear lid.

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Slacken screws (1) and adjust height of convertible top compartment lid.

Tightening torque, see 41 63 3AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Close rear lid.

Move convertible top into position shown.

IMPORTANT:

Risk of injury!

Secure convertible top compartment lid against falling closed.

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Loosen nut (1).

Tightening torque, see 41 63 5AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Close convertible top compartment lid.

Open rear lid.

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Remove protective caps (1) and slacken screws underneath.

Tightening torque, see 41 63 4AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Adjust convertible top compartment lid laterally and longitudinally.

Close rear lid.

Adjusting convertible top compartment lid in relation to side panel:

Open convertible top compartment lid.

IMPORTANT:

Risk of injury!

Secure convertible top compartment lid against falling closed.

Slacken nuts (1). In so doing, pay attention to spacer plates.

Adjust convertible top compartment lid to side panel by means of spacer plates.

Tightening torque, see 41 63 2AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Close convertible top compartment lid.

After installation:

Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
