41 63 060 Removing And Installing Convertible Top Compartment Lid

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Open convertible top.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

Tape off edge of rear lid in area (1) with plastic adhesive tape.

Move convertible top into position shown.

IMPORTANT:

Risk of injury!

Secure convertible top compartment lid against falling closed.

Switch off ignition. (This depressurizes the system).

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Cover areas (1).

NOTE: If fitted: Remove aerial of Global Positioning System (GPS). Refer to 65 90 540 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AERIAL OF GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) .

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque, see 41 63 2AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Lay convertible top compartment lid mechanism (1) in convertible top compartment.

Open rear lid with ignition key.

Remove out cover caps (1) and release screws underneath (1) underneath.

Tightening torque, see 41 63 4AZ in 41 63 CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Secure rear lid (1) in position shown.

Feed out convertible top compartment lid (2) with aid of a second person in direction of arrow.

Set convertible top compartment lid down on a clean surface.

Installation:

Positioning aids remove the need for adjustment after installation.
