41 33 040 Replacing Front Wall

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove carrier for bumper trim . Refer to 51 11 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CARRIER FOR FRONT BUMPER TRIM .

IMPORTANT:

Car must not be driven without the front wall.

Driving without the front wall may damage the body structure.

Following new body parts are required (refer to EPC):

(1) Front panel
(2) Headlight holder, left
(3) Headlight holder, right

Carry over the following work steps symmetrically to the other side of the car.

NOTE: View, front side panel, in direction of travel

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque, see 41 33 3AZ in 41 33 FRONT TRIM PANEL .

Installation:

Plastic tabs (3) on headlight holder (2) must not be damaged.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque, see 41 33 1AZ in 41 33 FRONT TRIM PANEL .

Remove front panel (2) together with headlight holders (3).

Replacement:

Release screws (4) and remove headlight holder.

Tightening torque, see 41 33 2AZ in 41 33 FRONT TRIM PANEL .
