37 20 001 Removing and installing/replacing DYNAMIC DRIVE valve block
Risk of injury if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!
Close off pipe connections with plugs.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
- Remove bottom right wheel arch trim . See 51 71... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT (BOTTOM) RIGHT WHEEL ARCH TRIM .
- Partially remove right underbody paneling . See 51 47... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT UNDERBODY PANELLING .
Release nuts (1, 2) (pressure lines to rear axle oscillating motor).
Tightening torque 37 14 12AZ . See INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEMS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Release nut (3) (return line)
Tightening torque 37 14 19AZ . See INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEMS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Release nut (4) (pressure line)
Tightening torque 37 14 16AZ . See INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEMS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Release nuts (5, 6) (pressure lines to front axle oscillating motor).
Tightening torque 37 14 15AZ . See INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEMS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Installation:
Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Partially detach front right wheel arch trim.
Disconnect plug connections (1, 2).
Release screws (3).
Tightening torque 37 14 17AZ . See INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEMS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Raise valve block and remove towards front.
Installation: Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components. When assembling, make sure that only the sealing plugs of the line to be fitted are removed. Do not damage sealing surfaces of hydraulic lines.
After installation:
- Fill and bleed hydraulic system . See 37 10 001 Initial operation with test run of Dynamic Drive .
- Check pipe connections for leaks
- If necessary, carry out initial DYNAMIC DRIVE operation
