52 17 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Seat Frame On Left Or Right Front Seat (Comfort)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT SEAT
Remove BOTH REAR PANELS on front seat backrest
Remove OUTER COVER
E60 only: Remove ACTUATING UNIT
Remove INNER COVER on front seat
Remove ADJUSTMENT UNIT for thigh support
Remove BACKREST FRAME on front seat
If necessary, remove DRIVE UNIT for active seat

Remove wiring harness (1) from seat frame (2).

Release rivets (1) on left and right, remove fastening strips (2) on left and right.

Release screws (3).

Tightening torque: 52 10 6AZ . See FRONT SEATS for specs.

Remove seat frame.

Installation:

When replacing backrest or seat frame, break off centring hooks (1) from seat frame.

The new seat frame part contains all the drives.
