52 17 054 Removing And Installing/Replacing Adjusting Unit For Backrest Width Adjustment On Left Or Right Front Seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front seat. See 52 14 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
Remove both rear panels on front seat backrest. See 52 14 198 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING REAR PANEL ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (NORMAL / ELECTRIC) .
Remove inner cover on front seat. See 52 14 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INNER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
Remove backrest cover for front seat. See 52 17 405 REPLACING BACKREST COVER FOR LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) .

Unfasten cable clip (1).

Installation:

Lay cables (3) without kinks.

Disconnect plug connection (2) on drive.

Release rivets (1) on left and right and remove adjusting elements (3).

Release rivets (2) for drive.

Remove complete adjusting unit.

NOTE: Adjusting element (3), cables and drive form a single unit and can only be replaced completely.
