51 24 050 Removing And Installing/Replacing Lock Element (Lock Cylinder) For Rear Lid (From 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove panel for rear lid  . See 51 49 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR LOWER REAR LID .

Detach Bowden cables (1 and 2) from rear lid lock.

Lever out expanding wedge (3) and detach guide (4).

Feed Bowden cable (2) out of Bowden cable (1) and guide (4).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove lock element (2) inwards and feed out with Bowden cable (3).

Replacement: 

Unhook Bowden cable (1) from lock element (2).

Release clip (3) and remove Bowden cable (1).
