51 16 ... Removing And Installing / Replacing Guide Rail For Roller Sun Blind Of Left Or Right Rear Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front chest strip (chrome strip) . See 51 42 400 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHEST STRIP (CHROME STRIP) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR (WITH ROLLER SUN BLIND) .
Disengage roller sun blind . See 51 16 ... DISENGAGING AND ENGAGING ROLLER SUN BLIND ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .

Release screws (1).

Carefully release catch (1).

Lever out guide rail (2) at top (A) and pull out in direction of arrow (B).

Installation:

Make sure guide rail (2) engages correctly in catch (1).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty spacer (1).

IMPORTANT: Guide rail (2) must not be damaged at the bottom otherwise the carriage will break.
Sliding member (3) must not be damaged.

Installation:

Insert guide rail correctly in brush cable (1) and guide (2).

Installation sequence:

Install guide rail
Engage roller sun blind . See 51 16 ... DISENGAGING AND ENGAGING ROLLER SUN BLIND ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .
Fit front chest strip (chrome strip) . See 51 42 400 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHEST STRIP (CHROME STRIP) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR (WITH ROLLER SUN BLIND) .
