11 65 035 Removing And Installing/Replacing Charger (BMW ALPINA B7 Radial Compressor)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT: When working on radial compressor:

After completing work:

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unlock and detach quick-connect couplings (2).

Unclip cable from holder (3).

Release hose clamps (4) and remove charge air hose.

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 5 Nm.

Charge air hose must be installed dry and free from grease!

Unscrew screws (1) and (2).

IMPORTANT: Bear in mind different bolt length (risk of damage):
  • Bolt (1), front: 8x30 
  • Bolt (2), rear: 8x35 

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 21 Nm.

Unclip vacuum line from holder (1).

Remove screws (2) and (3).

IMPORTANT: Bear in mind different bolt length (risk of damage):
  • Bolt (2), front: 8x30 
  • Bolt (3), rear: 8x35 

Carefully lift out radial compressor (4).

Installation: 

Replace both lower sealing rings on radial compressor.

Tightening torque: 21 Nm.

IMPORTANT: When reinstalling the radial compressor, make sure that both adapter sleeves (1) are in place.

Modify following components when replacing the radial compressor. 

Release screws (1) and modify belt pulley (2) to new radial compressor.

Installation: 

Tighten screws crosswise.

Tightening torque: 9 Nm.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that spacer is fitted between radial compressor and belt pulley.

Release bolts (1) and modify manifold with charge-air pressure actuator to new radial compressor.

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 9 Nm.

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions in the next work step.

Make sure that spacer sleeve (1) is modified in new radial compressor.

Seal (2) must always be replaced.

Release screws (1) and modify manifold (2) to new radial compressor.

Installation: 

Replace seal.

Tightening torque: 9 Nm.
