51 24 065 Removing and Installing/Replacing Bowden Cable For Manual Rear Lid Unlocking (Up To 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach cover (1) from lock element (2).

NOTE: Illustration shows version without manual rear lid unlocking.

Lever out securing plugs (1).

Lever out catches (2) and remove Bowden cable guide (3).

Unlock catch (1) and detach Bowden cables (2 and 3) from rear lid lock upper section (5).

Lever Bowden cable (2) out of guide (4).

Installation: 

Bowden cable (2) must be correctly positioned in guide (4).

Release screw (1).

Feed out Bowden cable with holder (2) from rear lid.

Installation: 

Retainer (5) must be correctly fitted.

Bowden cable (3) and retainer (5) must be correctly fitted on lock element (4).

  1. Fastener (lock cylinder)
  2. Rear lid lock (upper section)
  3. Bowden cable for manual rear lid unlocking
  4. Bowden cable for rear lid lock
  5. Holder on Bowden cable for rear lid lock
