63 21 186 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Light (On Center Of Rear Lid)

Lever out covers (1) at bottom and remove.

NOTE: Releasing rear light is shown on left side.

Releasing rear light on right side is done in same way.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unscrew nuts (2).

NOTE: Secure rear light against falling out.

Lower luggage compartment lid.

NOTE: If necessary, secure shims under rear light (1) against falling out.

Pull out rear light (1) slightly in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug connection underneath and remove rear light (1).

Installation:

Make sure gap is uniform all round between rear light (1) and luggage compartment lid (2).

Make sure sealing frame for rear light is correctly seated; replace if necessary. Refer to 63 21 107 REPLACING SEALING FRAME FOR REAR LIGHT (ON CENTER OF REAR LID) .

WARNING: Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (exterior lights). Refer to 63 99 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING LIGHT BULBS (EXTERIOR LIGHTS) .

Replacement:

If necessary, remove bulbs.
