51 24 ... Removing and Installing/Replacing Angle Transmitter For Rear Lid Actuation (Electrohydraulic-Fully Automatic)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch trim See 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM
Remove panel for rear window shelf See 51 46 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR REAR PARCEL SHELF

Lever out cable holder (1).

Lever out cover (2) and remove.

3 Luggage compartment lid

Release screw (1).

NOTE: Before nuts (3) are released, a 2nd person must open rear lid and hold angle transmitter (2).

Unscrew nuts (3).

Tightening torque 51 24 7AZ . See 51 24 REAR LID LOCKS

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Remove angle transmitter (2) with retaining bracket (3).

4 Right rear lid hinge

Installation:

Angle transmitter (2) is initialized by automatic closing and opening once.
