64 12 600 Removing and Installing/Replacing Fuel Pump

Special tools required:

13 3 010

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear left underbody paneling. See 51 47 ... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT UNDERBODY PANELING

Seal off water hoses at fuel pump with special tool 13 3 010.

Recycling

Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached. Have a suitable collecting container ready.

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Loosen hose clamps (2).

Disconnect fuel hoses (3).

Pull holder (4) apart and remove fuel pump (5) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Observe direction of flow of fuel pump (5).
