51 24 050 Removing And Installing/Replacing Lock Element (Lock Cylinder) For Rear Lid (Up To 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach cover (1) from lock element (2).

Disconnect Bowden cable (3) from element (4).

Installation: 

Retainer (5) must be correctly fitted.

Version with manual unlocking: 

Release screw (1).

Slide Bowden cable with holder (2) to one side.

Release screw (1).

Unscrew lock element (2) in direction of arrow from rear lid (3).

Installation: 

Perform function check with rear lid open.

Installation: 

Following parts of lock element (5) must not be damaged or missing:

  1. Foam
  2. Bowden cable mounting
  3. Retainer
  4. Cap
