51 13 400 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Centre Trim (Up To 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

If necessary, remove number/license plate
Remove TRIM FOR REAR LID AT BOTTOM
Remove REAR LIGHT FROM CENTRE OF REAR LID

NOTE:

Detaching rear centre trim is shown on the left side; proceed in same way for detaching on the right side.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Tightening torque: 51 13 6AZ . See TRIM PARTS, COVERS, HANDLE TRIM for specs.

Lever out catches (1)

Remove complete rear centre trim (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Make sure two-part seal (1) is correctly seated.

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).

Replacement only:

Remove both REAR LIGHTS .

If necessary, remove two-part seal.
