51 24 ... Removing And Installing/Replacing Bowden Cable For Rear Lid Lock (Up To 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Lever out securing plugs (1).

Lever out catches (2) and remove Bowden cable guide (3).

Unlock catch (1) and detach Bowden cables (2 and 3) from rear lid lock upper section (6).

Lever out expanding wedge (4) and detach guide (5).

Version with manual unlocking: 

Installation: 

Bowden cable (2) must be correctly positioned in guide (5).

Release lock (1) from Bowden cable (2) and remove clip (3).

Feed out Bowden cable (2) from rear lid.

Installation: 

Lock (1) must be correctly fitted.

  1. Fastener (lock cylinder)
  2. Rear lid lock (upper section)
  3. Bowden cable for manual rear lid unlocking
  4. Bowden cable for rear lid lock
  5. Holder on Bowden cable for rear lid lock
