34 51 527 Removing and Installing/Replacing DSC Hydraulic Unit

Observe safety when raising the vehicle.
After completing tasks, bleed brake system. See 34 00 050 BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM WITH DSC
When replacing control unit:
- Carry out programming/coding . See VEHICLE PROGRAMMING AND CODING .
- Adjustment of steering angle sensor
- Mix-up check of brake lines
- Function check, hydraulic unit
Load and block brake pedal with pedal support.
Release coolant expansion tank (1) and place to one side Not for vehicles with M67 engines.
Unfasten brake lines.
Installation:
Tightening torque 34 32 1AZ. See 34 32 BRAKE LINES
Line connections:
- (F) From brake master cylinder, circuit F, to hydraulic unit, circuit F (front-axle brake circuit)
- (R) From brake master cylinder, circuit R, to hydraulic unit, circuit R (rear-axle brake circuit)
- (FR) From hydraulic unit FR to wheel brake, front right
- (FL) From hydraulic unit FL to wheel brake, front left
- (RR) From hydraulic unit RR to wheel brake, rear right
- (RL) From hydraulic unit RL to wheel brake, rear left
Unlock plug connection (1) in direction (2) and detach vertically upwards.
Installation:
Position plug connection (1) vertically on control unit in order to avoid damaging pins.
Disconnect plug connection (4).
Release screw (5) and remove hydraulic unit.
The following components must be modified when the hydraulic unit is replaced:

- Hydraulic unit bracket
