25 11 081 Replacing Gaiter (Shift Lever Cover) For Shift Lever

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove shift/selector lever knob . See 25 11 071 REPLACING KNOB FOR SHIFT LEVER and 25 16 061 REPLACING GRIP/KNOB FOR SHIFT LEVER

NOTE: The method for removing the gaiter is the same for manual and automatic transmissions.

Removing gaiter:

Carefully pull gaiter taut on leather.
Press frame inwards slightly until catch is released.
Lift out gaiter.

NOTE: Illustrations show E85.

Installation:

Retaining lugs must not be damaged.
