51 45 310 Removing And Installing (Replacing) Center Trim For Instrument Panel

Special Tools Required 

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Version without CCC/ASK: 

Unclip bottom trim cover (1) with special tool 00 9 340  .

Unclip top trim cover (1) with special tool 00 9 340  .

Pull out trim (1) and disconnect associated plug connection.

Replacement: 

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty holders (1).

Version with CCC/ASK: 

Remove control panel for heater - A/C system  . See 64 11 378 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER OPERATOR UNIT (VERSION WITH CCC/ASK) (128i) or 64 11 378 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER OPERATOR UNIT (VERSION WITH CCC/ASK) (135i) .

Pull trim cover (1) inward to release from pin (2).

Detach trim cover (1) and disconnect plug connection.

Installation: 

Make sure ribbon cable (1) is positioned correctly on trim cover (2).

Replacement: 

If necessary, modify center console switch cluster (3)  . See 61 31 052 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (OR REPLACING VERSION WITHOUT CCC) CENTER CONSOLE SWITCH CLUSTER (AFTER 03/2007) or 61 31 054 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (OR REPLACING VERSION WITH CCC) CENTER CONSOLE SWITCH CLUSTER (AFTER 03/2007) .

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty holders (1).
