51 45 460 Removing And Installing/Replacing Upper Instrument Panel Storage Compartment

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove center fresh air grille  . See 64 22 162 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING MIDDLE FRESH-AIR GRILLE (128i) or 64 22 162 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING MIDDLE FRESH-AIR GRILLE (135i) .

Open storage compartment (1) and remove insert (2).

Release screws (1) and (2).

Raise storage compartment out of instrument panel until plug connection (3) can be disconnected. Disconnect plug connection and remove storage compartment from instrument panel.
