12 51 100 Replacing Wiring Harness Section For Ignition Coil (N73)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Remove manifold. Refer to 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD (N73) .

Release grounding points (1).

Disconnect plug connections (1) on rod-type ignition coils. Refer to 12 13 009 CHECKING ROD-TYPE IGNITION COILS (M54, M56, N40, N42, N45, N46, N52, N62, N73) .

Disconnect plug connections (1) on rod-type ignition coils. Refer to 12 13 009 CHECKING ROD-TYPE IGNITION COILS (M54, M56, N40, N42, N45, N46, N52, N62, N73) .

Unscrew bolt (1).

Release retaining clip (2).

Remove cover (3).

Installation:

Install profile seals correctly to ensure watertightness.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Disconnect plug connection (2).

NOTE: Plug color: Black (DME). Plug color: Gray (DMC2).

Disconnect plug connection (3).

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
