25 11 081 Replacing gaiter (shift lever cover) for shift lever
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove shift/selector lever knob.
NOTE:
The method for removing the gaiter is the same for manual and automatic transmissions.
Removing gaiter:
- Carefully pull gaiter taut on leather.
- Press frame inwards slightly until catch is released.
- Lift out gaiter.
NOTE:
Illustrations show E85 (Z4).
Installation:
Retaining lugs must not be damaged.
