51 41 001 Replacing front left or right door trim panel
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rocker switch for side window operation (See 61 31 114 REPLACING ROCKER SWITCH FOR SIDE WINDOW OPERATION (DRIVER'S SIDE) and 61 31 115 REPLACING ROCKER SWITCH FOR SIDE WINDOW OPERATION (PASSENGER SIDE) )
- Remove inside door opener (See 51 21 225 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING INSIDE DOOR OPENER IN LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR )
- Remove door handle on door trim panel (See 51 41 019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING DOOR HANDLE ON DOOR TRIM PANEL, FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT )
- Lever out trim for locking knob
- If necessary, lever out airbag emblem
Version with speaker:
- Remove speaker (See 65 13 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SPEAKER (MID-RANGE SPEAKER IN DOOR TRIM PANEL) )
Version without speaker:
Release nuts (1) and remove cover (2).
Version with speaker:
Lever out catches (1)
Lever out speaker frame (2) with guide (3) from door trim (4) and remove.
Installation:
Following parts of speaker frame (3) must not be damaged or missing:
- Catches
- Guide
Build date from 04/2006:
NOTE:
Switch for door mirror (2) must be secured with adhesive bead (1).
Crashpad (3) must be fitted.
Switches for door mirror (2) and crashpad (3) are secured with hot adhesive.
If necessary, retrofit crashpad (3) and secure switch (2) with hot adhesive.
