51 22 435 Removing And Installing Function Carrier (With Roller Sun Blind) On Left Or Right Rear Door
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove DOOR TRIM PANEL
Version with roller sun blind only:
- Remove ROLLER SUN BLIND OF FIXED SIDE WINDOW
- Remove GUIDE RAIL for roller sun blind
Risk of mixing up plugs for door lock and control unit!
Mark relevant plugs prior to removal.
Release screws (1).
Disconnect plug connections (2).
Feed out door wiring harness (kink-free) through wiring harness opening (3).
Disconnect BOWDEN CABLE (4).
Version with roller sun blind only:
Unfasten screws (5 and 6).
Release quick-release couplings.
Remove function carrier.
Installation:
If necessary, replace defective quick-release couplings.
Make sure quick-release couplings are installed in correct position.
- Quick-release coupling grey 1.8 mm
- Quick-release coupling white 0.8 mm
Installation:
Seal on function carrier (sound insulation) must not be damaged.
Installation:
Version with roller sun blind only:
Installation sequence:
- Install function carrier
- Connect cable and Bowden cable (graphic R51 3078)
- Lock couplings (graphic R51 3080)
- Install ROLLER SUN BLIND
- Install GUIDE RAIL
- Tighten screws (1)
- Press roller blind cassette (2) upwards and tighten down screws (3)
- Tighten screws (4)
- Install DOOR TRIM PANEL
- Carry out FUNCTION TEST ON ROLLER SUN BLIND
Tightening torque, screw (1): 51 16 10AZ . See MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES for specs.
