51 24... Removing and installing/replacing bottom left or right lock support for rear lid
Releasing screw connection for rear lid at bottom:
Open rear lid until screw (1) is accessible (risk of injury by spring tension).
With rear lid in this position, release screw (1) and insert in bore of support (2).
CAUTION:
If the second support (2) is released for removal of the rear lid, the rear bumper must be protected against damage.
Screw (1) remains in support (2) until installation.
Installation:
Fit spacer (3).

Removal and installation or replacement only:
Remove panel for roof pillar at rear. Refer to 51 43 252 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING PANEL FOR REAR ROOF PILLAR (D-PILLAR), LEFT OR RIGHT .
Release screw on support at top and remove support.
