64 12 577 Replacing changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Work on the cooling system may only be carried out when it has cooled down.
NOTE: Disconnect coolant hoses from changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Observe coolant throughflow direction, mark coolant hoses before removing.
NOTE: If necessary, catch escaping coolant.

Disconnect plug connection (1). Release spring clamps (2) and detach coolant hoses. Release nuts (3) and remove changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater (4).

After installation: Vent cooling system and check for water leaks. See 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS .
