63 12 010 Removing And Installing Left Headlight (Xenon Headlight)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

WARNING: Version with xenon headlights: Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore disconnect all components from voltage supply before removal.
Work on the entire xenon lighting system (ignition unit, control unit and lamp) may only be carried out by specialist personnel.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Up to 10/2003:
Remove trim from left headlight housing. Refer to 51 13 065 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING FINISHER ON LEFT OR RIGHT HEADLIGHT HOUSING .
From 10/2003:
Remove front bumper trim.

Up to 10/2003:

Cover bumper in area of headlight (3).

Release screws (2) on top and rear sides of headlight (3).

Remove headlight (3).

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Release screw (2) and remove retaining bracket for xenon control unit.

Remove headlamp (3).

From 10/2003:

Release screws (1).

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (2) and if necessary further plug connections.

Remove headlamp (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Adjust gap dimensions
Adjust headlights, refer to 63 10 004 ADJUSTING HEADLIGHTS
