61 61 270 Removing And Installing Mounting Bracket For Windshield Wiper System Completely With Motor

Special tools required: 

Remove cover for cowl. Refer to 51 13 115 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COWL PANEL COVER .

Pull out air funnel (1) on microfilter housing.

Remove screws (1) and (2).

Installation: 

If necessary, replace damping ring upper/lower section.

Tighten screws (1) and (2) in specified sequence.

Observe tightening torque, 61 61 6AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release nut (3) with special tool 61 6 250.

Installation: 

If necessary, replace rubber buffer.

Fit nut (3) loosely.

Remove bracket for windshield wiper system (4) and disconnect plug connection (5).

Installation: 

Before installing wiper arms, allow wiper motor to return to its rest position.

To ensure the wiper system works properly, check and correct the contact angle of the wiper arms. Refer to 61 61 010 CHECKING/ADJUSTING APPROACH ANGLE OF WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS ON FRONT WINDSCREEN  .

In event of deviations from specified value, correct contact angle using adjusting screw (1).

Check contact angle of wiper arms again.

Grip adjusting screw (1) and tighten nut (2) with special tool 61 6 250.

Observe tightening torque, 61 61 6AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Secure nut (2) with locking varnish.
