34 33 505 Removing and installing / replacing brake booster

IMPORTANT:
  1. Note "General Information", Refer to 34 00... GENERAL DATA 
  2. Remove the master brake cylinder,
  3. referto34 31500.
  4. Remove left-hand windscreen wiper arm.

Move the hood lid into assembly position.

Pull off the rubber seal (1).

Remove the securing clamps of the cover (2) up until the middle of the windscreen. Pull the cover (2) upwards and away.

Release screws and remove cover.

Remove the cover (1).

Remove the line feed-through (2).

Pull the vacuum hose (3) off of the brake unit.

Remove the brake light switch.

Pull off retainer (1).

Unhinge the recoil spring (2).

Withdraw pin (3).

Loosen the nuts (1) and bolts (2).

Pull the pedal assembly slightly away from the bulkhead.

Installation: 

  1. Replace self-locking nuts.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any force when removing and installing the brake unit; the brake unit can be damaged under certain circumstances.

Carefully pull the brake unit out of the bulkhead swing it out.

Installation: 

  1. Install the adapter plate (1).
  2. Replace the gasket (2) if necessary.
IMPORTANT: Region (3) of the brake unit is very susceptible to damage that could lead to the breakdown of the brake unit.
