51 32 170 Removing and installing/replacing door window glass, front left or right (Protection)

Remove outer window cavity trim, see 51 21 300 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING WINDOW RECESS COVER STRIP ON OUTSIDE OF LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR 

If necessary, remove airbag module on front left or right door,

refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .

Remove sound insulation on front door,

refer to 51 48... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SOUND INSULATION IN FRONT DOOR, LEFT OR RIGHT 

Remove inner window cavity trim, see 51 21 330 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP ON INNER FRONT DOOR .

Unlock plug connection (1) for door window heater by pressing on lug.

Disconnect connector.

Connect toggle switch for power window to plug connection of door wiring harness.

Lower door window down to stop.

Slacken clamping jaw (1) at rear and release clamping screw (2) at front.

Cover edges of window cavity with fabric tape to prevent scratching door window glass.

Turn door window glass and lift out towards rear/top.

Installation 

1. Adjust door window glass,
2. refer to 51 32 154 ADJUSTING DOOR WINDOW GLASS, FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT (PROTECTION) .
