Rear Wheel Bearing: Installation
CAUTION:
Do not reuse old wheel bearing.
- Install new wheel bearing. The contact faces (2) of wheel bearing and wheel carrier and the tapped bores (1) must be clean and free of grease. Draw in new wheel bearing with special tool (33 3 261/ 264/ 265). See Fig 1 .
- Pull in drive flange hub with special tool (33 3 261/ 262/ 263 /264). See Fig 2 .
- Install new circlip.
- Lightly oil and replace collar nut. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Secure collar nut by punching.
- Install new cap with sealing compound.
- Fasten stabilizer arm on stabilizer of wheel carrier. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install ABS sensor.
- Install brake disc.
- If necessary adjust parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE under ADJUSTMENTS.
