Cooling System, Bleeding
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Cooling System Service Station:VAS 531 011
Procedure
Condition
- Completely fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System, Filling .
- Pay attention to the operating instructions for the Cooling System Service Station:VAS 531 011 .
-- Connect the Cooling System Service Station:VAS 531 011 then refer to the operating instructions.
-- Select "vehicle maintenance" in the main menu.
-- In the menu select "system, bleeding" and perform the bleeding.
- Test pressure => 1800 mbar pressure
-- Perform the "bleeding the cooling system" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
-- Remove the adapter with the service connection Cooling System Service Station:VAS 531 011 from the coolant expansion tank.
-- Check the coolant level in the coolant expansion tank and adjust if necessary.
Condition
- Fist check the coolant level at a coolant temperature of at least 15° Celsius.
- The correct coolant level is reached, when the coolant is at least on the lower edge -arrow- of the filler neck.
Assembly
The assembly is performed in reverse order.
