If the control module is replaced, perform the test plan for replacing the control module.
-- Perform the "Control Module, Replacing" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester . Refer to Diagnostic Entries .

High voltage increases the risk of fatal injury
Electrocution can cause severe bodily or fatal injury.
- Have a high-voltage technician or a high-voltage expert de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- De-energize the high-voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, DE-ENERGIZING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING .
-- Turn off the ignition. Place the vehicle key and other start authorization systems (such as smartphones) outside of the vehicle interior.
-- Remove the rear reinforcement. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .
-- Release the catch on both sides -arrow- and free up the coolant hose -1-.
-- Disconnect the high-voltage connector -1-. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-- Remove the bracket for the power output protection with boost function. Refer to BRACKET FOR THE POWER OUTPUT PROTECTION WITH BOOST FUNCTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the high-voltage connector -1-. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and push the bracket -1- with the High-Voltage Battery Coolant Pump -V590- to the side.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Free up the coolant line bracket -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the cover -1-.
-- Remove the screws -arrows-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- to do so counterhold on the connector housing.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -3-.
-- Remove the potential equalization cable -2-.
-- Remove the screws -arrows-.
-- Lift the control module -6- until the coolant hose -4- is accessible.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -5- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Remove the control module.
