Fill the All-Wheel Drive Clutch Oil
-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500 under the final drive.
-- To fill use the Charging Device For BorgWarner Coupling 2:VAS 6291A .
-- Remove the oil filler plug -2-.
-- Disconnect the adapter -A- and elbow -B-.
-- Install the adapter -A- all the way.
-- Lock the elbow -B- with the adapter -A-.
-- Route the Charging Device hose over the drive axle.
- The hose must not sag. It must come out at the back of the vehicle above the left rear wheel.
-- Lower the vehicle.
-- Pay attention to that the valve -arrow- is closed.
-- Attach the oil container -A- to the Charging Device For BorgWarner Coupling 2:VAS 6291A .
-- Open the valve -arrow- and hold the oil container as shown.
The all-wheel drive clutch is now filled.
- When the all-wheel drive clutch is filled properly, oil escapes at adapter -A-.
-- Raise the vehicle.
-- If oil escapes, place an oil container under the all-wheel drive clutch (for example, on a workshop cart).
Overflowing oil now runs back into the oil container.
-- When the oil stops flowing, remove the Charging Device For BorgWarner Coupling 2:VAS 6291A .
- The all-wheel drive clutch is not filled up to the lower edge of the oil filler hole.
-- Install a new oil filler plug -2-.
-- Finally, check the oil level in the all-wheel drive clutch. Refer to OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .
