-- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
-- Move the rear headrests into the lowest position.
-- Remove the front passenger door. Refer to DOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lower the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, LOWERING, SEDAN .
-- Fold the rear seat backrests toward the rear.
-- Move the steering wheel as far upward as possible using the entire adjustment range of the steering column.
-- Move the driver seat into the deepest and most forward position and position the backrest as far toward the rear as it will go.
-- Remove the door seal -1- for the top of the front passenger door in the corner area in the sequence -A, B and C arrows- and push to the side outward.
-- Open the rear driver side door, turn and lower the headliner -1- accordingly to guide it towards the front passenger door.
Increased risk of damaging the headliner when removing due to incorrect handling.
- Make sure that all the installation components in the procedure description are removed.
- Guide the headliner using care and with the help of an additional technician to the front passenger door opening.
-- Lower the front of the headliner on the left side of the vehicle, guide it under the steering wheel and turn it toward the front passenger door opening.
-- Remove the headliner as shown through the front passenger door.
-- To do so if necessary bend the headliner on the edges lightly and guide it past the constrictions.
