Heat Shield For Rear Tunnel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the left and right front underbody trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .

-- Remove the front and rear tunnel bridge. Refer to TUNNEL BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- TDI engine: free up the wiring harness -2- on the heat shield -1-.

-- Remove the lock washers -arrows-.

FWD:

-- Remove the rear muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (EA 888EVO4) , or MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (EA 839) .

quattro Equipment Version:

-- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with High-Voltage System:

-- Remove the drive motor high-voltage wiring harness in the area of the heat shields and on the sides on the underbody. Refer to DRIVE MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE WIRING HARNESS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
