Camshaft Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing
Depending on the model preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAMSHAFT HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- If installed: loosen the hose clamp -2- and remove the air duct hose.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3-.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the air duct pipe.
-- Remove the camshaft timing chain from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation module. Refer to CRANKCASE VENTILATION MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the ignition coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the hose clamp -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and the air duct pipe.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- for the cam actuator and move the wiring harness to side.
Rest of World market version:
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the vacuum lines -1 and 3- and remove.
-- Remove the bolts -4- and the intake tube.
Market-Specific for North America:
-- Remove the bolt -3- and remove the vacuum lines -1 and 5- and remove.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the bracket for the engine cover.
-- Carefully remove the noise insulation.
-- Loosen the camshaft housing bolts in the sequence: -23 to 1-.
-- Remove the bolts and the camshaft housing.
