Electric Drive Control Module On Rear Axle J1235/J1236, Removing And Installing, S Model: Removing
If the Electric Drive Control Module on Rear Axle Electric Drive Control Module on Rear Axle - J1235- /Electric Drive Control Module 2 on Rear Axle - J1236- is replaced, the test plan for replacing the control module must be performed.
-- Perform the "Control Module, Replacing" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester . Refer to Diagnostic Entries .

-- Refer to Rear Motors, Removing .
-- Remove the noise insulation from the rear motors.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and push the coolant hoses to the side.
-- Disconnect the corresponding connector -arrow-.
High voltage increases the risk of fatal injury
Electrocution can cause severe bodily or fatal injury.
- Have a high-voltage technician or a high-voltage expert de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- If the contact protection is remove from on high-voltage components, an additional de-energizing must be performed.
-- Remove the respective bolts in the sequence -6- through -1- and remove the cover.
-- Perform an additional de-energizing.
-- Remove the screws -arrows-.
-- Place a cleaning cloth underneath, to catch cleaning coolant leaking out.
-- Remove the corresponding bolts -arrows- and remove the electric drive control module.
