Removing
High voltage increases the risk of fatal injury
Electrocution can cause severe bodily or fatal injury.
- Have a high-voltage technician or a high-voltage expert de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- Refer to High-Voltage System, De-Energizing .
-- Remove the rear underbody trim panels. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
-- Remove the left and right wind deflector. Refer to OVERVIEW - TRANSVERSE LINK .
-- Remove the left and right drive axles. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Remove the nut -2-.
-- Free up the wiring harness to the subframe.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -3-.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the left side to the Rear Axle Electric Drive Motor 2 -V648-.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and -3-.
-- Disconnect the connector -4- on the right side for the Rear Axle Electric Drive Motor -V663-.
-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS 6208 underneath.
-- Clamp off the coolant hoses using the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm:3094 .
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Position the Scissor Lift Table:VAS 6131B at a right angle to the direction of travel and align as follows:

-- On the left and right, place the following mounting elements from the support set on the motor.

Condition
- Threaded spindles fully inserted.
-- On the left and right, place the following mounting elements from the support set and the complementary set on the motor.
- :VAS 6131/11-3
- Scissor Lift Table - Audi Set - Mounting Pin:VAS 6131/10-2
- Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set - Adapter:VAS 6131/11-2
- Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set - Mounting:VAS 6131/11-4
-- Turn the remaining spindles from the mounting elements upward until all mounting pins are all the way on the mounting points.
-- Attach the mounting element base plates to scissor lift table and tighten to 20 Nm.
-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- (example photo).
-- Carefully lower the rear motors using the scissor lift table.

- Have a high-voltage technician or a high-voltage expert de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- If the rear motors are additionally disassembled and at the same time the contact protection on the high-voltage components is removed, an additional de-energizing must be performed.
