Parking Lock Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Removal Tool:T40437

Procedure

-- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and push the coolant pipe for the transmission to the side. (different versions)

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and move the parking lock emergency release cable -1- to the side. (different versions)

-- Press the tensioning pin -1- out using the Removal Tool:T40437  -A-.

• Depending on the transmission, the parking lock lever may be installed in various positions. See the illustrations above and below.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the parking lock cover -1-.

-- Remove the seal with the Thrust Piece:T10040/3  .

-- Press in the new seal with the Thrust Piece:T10040/3  to the installation dimension 0.5 mm.

• Refer to OVERVIEW - COOLANT PIPES - 2.0L , OVERVIEW - COOLANT PIPES - 3.0L
• Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
