Rollover Protection, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Fold the rear seat backrest forward.
-- Bring the convertible top into the service position. Refer to Convertible Top ; Convertible Top and Convertible Top Compartment Cover Service Position
Risk of injury due to involuntary deployment.
- Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR ROLLOVER PROTECTION .
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable when the ignition is turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the side cushion. Refer to SIDE CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A5 CABRIOLET .
-- Remove the locking mechanism trim. Refer to LOCKING MECHANISM TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A5 CABRIOLET .
-- Remove the expanding clips for the rear panel rear trim panels at the front and back using the Pliers:T40172C .
-- Remove the expanding clips for the front luggage compartment floor using the Pliers:T40172C .
-- Remove the expanding clip for the luggage compartment side trim panel using the Pliers:T40172C .
-- Push the luggage compartment side trim panel in the connector area to the side.
-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- by pulling out the connector lock -1- and pressing it down.
Risk of malfunction.
- Loosen only those bolts shown in the illustration.
-- Loosen the rear panel front trim panel in the bolt area and press it to the side.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.
-- Push the rear panel rear trim panel above the rollover protection to the side.
-- Remove the rollover protection -3- upward from the vehicle -arrow-.
