Heater Core Heat EXCHANGER, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Drain the coolant for the engine coolant circuit. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the left front wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Remove the left lower longitudinal member. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
-- Disconnect the coolant hoses on the heat exchanger -7- with the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm:3094 and mark the layout.
-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208 underneath.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 3- and remove the coolant hoses from the connection on the heat exchanger -7-.
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and refrigerant line -2-.
-- Remove the bolt -4- and refrigerant line -5-.
-- Remove the screws -2 and 6-.
-- Remove the heat exchanger -7- with the refrigerant receiver.
-- Remove the bolt -5- to disconnect the refrigerant receiver -3- from the heat exchanger -4-.
