All-Wheel Drive Clutch Torque, Checking

The torque is only checked when it suggested based on "Guided Fault Finding".

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Socket - 36mm:T10125  (1/2 inch)

• or
• 3/4 inch adapter for 1/2 inch
• Counter Holder:T40345

• Torque Wrench 1332 40-200Nm:V.A.G 1332

• Only check the torque if "Guided Fault Finding" specifically requests it.

-- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING  .

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and switch on the ignition.

-- On the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, select the function 22 - Actuator test  under Guided Functions  in the 22 - AWD electronics  folder.

-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions in the display of the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Mount the tool as shown to check the torque of the all-wheel drive clutch.

A - Torque Wrench 1332 40-200Nm:V.A.G 1332  and Torque Wrench 80-400Nm :V.A.G 1576 

• Use the Torque Wrench 80-400Nm:V.A.G 1576  to check higher torques.
• To do so, a 36 mm Socket3/4 inch (commercially available) or a 3/4 inch adapter for 1/2 inch is required.

-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING  .
