Cylinder Bank 2 (Left) Cam Actuator, Removing

Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Audi A8, Cylinder 5 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F466- :

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -3- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- Free up the lines -1- for the EVAP system and push it slightly to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Cylinder 5 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F466-.

Cylinder 8 Exhaust Cam Adjuster 1 -F478- :

-- Disconnect the connector -4- for the Cylinder 8 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F478-.

Audi S8, Cylinder 5 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F466- :

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -3-, remove the air duct hose and push to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Cylinder 5 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F466-.

Vehicles without Particulate Filter: Cylinder 5 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F464- /Cylinder 8 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F476- :

-- Audi S8: remove the left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the electrical connector -2- for the Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131- from the bracket -3-, disconnect it and free up the wire.

-- Unclip the bracket and remove.

Vehicles with Particulate Filter: Cylinder 5 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F464- /Cylinder 8 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F476- :

-- Audi S8: remove the left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove, disconnect and free up the connector from the bracket.

For the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 Bank 2 -G497-
For the Oxygen Sensor 2 After Catalytic Converter -GX8-

-- Disconnect the connector -3- for the Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor 2 -G1038-.

-- Unclip the bracket and remove.

Cylinder 5 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F464- :

-- Release the catch in direction of -arrow- and remove the vacuum hose -1- at the same time do not damage it.

-- Move the vacuum hose to the side.

-- Disconnect the connectors:

For the Cylinder 5 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F464-
For the Ignition Coil 5 with Power Output Stage - N323- /Ignition Coil 6 with Power Output Stage -N324-

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and push the wiring duct slightly upward.

Cylinder 8 Intake Cam Adjuster 1 -F476-

The engine is cold.

-- To reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the left upper brace. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .

-- Audi S8: remove the left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Lift the clamp -2-, disconnect the coolant line, and free it up.

-- Remove the bolt -3- and nuts -arrows- move the coolant expansion tank to the side.

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -2- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- Remove the vacuum line -1- and free it up, to do so press the release button.

-- Disconnect the connectors:

For the Ignition Coil 7 with Power Output Stage -N325- /Ignition Coil 8 with Power Output Stage -N326-

For the Cylinder 8 Intake Camshaft Adjuster 1 -F476-

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and push the bracket with the wiring harness slightly to the side.
