Heat Shield For Rear Tunnel, Removing And Installing

Removing 

-- Remove the nuts -1- and bolts -arrows- for the underbody trim panels on the inside.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the tunnel brace -1-.

-- TDI engine: remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the bracket -1- and tie up to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Pivot the mounting -1- to the side and remove the tunnel brace -2-.

-- Remove the rear muffler. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, DISCONNECTING .

-- Remove the driveshaft heat shield.

-- TDI engine: free up the wiring harness -2-.

-- Remove the lock washers -arrows-.

-- Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive and have a second technician hold it. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Remove the heat shield -1-.

Installing 

Install in reverse order of removal.

Tightening Specifications
