Cylinder Head Gasket
- Replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Installed position: the part number faces the cylinder head
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing

- Replace after removing

- Tightening Specifications and Sequence:
  - Cylinder bank 1 (right). Refer to Fig 2.
  - Cylinder bank 2 (left). Refer to Fig 3.
- Replace after removing
- Loosening sequence:
  - Cylinder bank 1 (right). Refer to CYLINDER HEAD BANK 1 (RIGHT), REMOVING - Remove the bolts -arrows-. .
  - Cylinder bank 2 (left). Refer to CYLINDER HEAD BANK 2 (LEFT), REMOVING - Remove the bolts -arrows-. .
Cylinder Head
- Shown for cylinder bank 2 (left)
- Removing and Installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Checking for distortion. Refer to Fig 4.
- Reworking Dimensions. Refer to Fig 5.
- Pay attention to the camshaft housing pairing number and cylinder head. Refer to Figure.
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
Bolt
- Tightening Specifications and Sequence:
  - Cylinder bank 1 (right). Refer to Fig 2.
  - Cylinder bank 2 (left). Refer to Fig 3.
- Replace after removing
- Loosening sequence:
  - Cylinder bank 1 (right). Refer to CYLINDER HEAD BANK 1 (RIGHT), REMOVING - Remove the bolts -arrows-. .
  - Cylinder bank 2 (left). Refer to CYLINDER HEAD BANK 2 (LEFT), REMOVING - Remove the bolts -arrows-. .
Bracket
- For the Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve 2 -N274-
Bolt
- 9 Nm

Bank 1 (Right) Cylinder Head - Tightening Specification and Sequence

Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Tighten the bolts in steps as shown:

Step	Bolts	Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1.	-1 through 10-	Install all the way by hand
2.	-1 through 10-	15 Nm
3.	-1 through 10-	30 Nm
4.	-1 through 10-	300° additional turn
5.	-1 through 10-	Loosen 720° (2 turns)
6.	-1 through 10-	30 Nm
7.	-1 through 10-	120° additional turn
8.	-arrows-	10 Nm
9.	-arrows-	25° additional turn

Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

Cylinder Head, Checking for Distortion

-- Check the cylinder head at several locations for distortion using a Straight Edge - 500mm: VAS6075 and a feeler gauge.

Maximum permissible distortion: 0.1 mm.

Reworking the cylinder head (face lapping) is only permissible to the minimum dimension -a-.

Minimum dimension -a- = 137.95 mm
