Front Bumper Assembly: Notes
DO NOT re-use any fasteners that are worn or deformed in normal use. Many fasteners are designed to be used only once and become unreliable and may fail when used a second time. This includes, but is not limited to, nuts, bolts, washers, self-locking nuts or bolts, circlips, cotter pins. Always follow recommendations given in this publication. For replacements always use new parts.
- Trim Strip, Right Side
- Removing, refer to Fig. 1 Removing Front Bumper, Left and Right Trim .
- Bolt w/Washer
- 2.5 Nm (22 in lb)
- Trim Strip, Center
- Removing, refer to Fig. 1 Removing Front Bumper, Left and Right Trim .
Adjusting:
-- Remove bumper.
-- Loosen bolt ) FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
Installing:
-- Align to both side trim strips.
- Removing, refer to Fig. 1 Removing Front Bumper, Left and Right Trim .
- Bolt w/Washer
- 2.5 Nm (22 in lb)

- Expanding Nut
- Guide Piece, Left/Right
- Unclip bumper from guide piece.
- Push bumper end downward out of guide piece.
- Bolt w/Washer
- 1.5 Nm (13 in lb)

- 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
- Locks with nut w/washer ) FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
- Nut w/Washer
- Bolt w/Washer
- 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
- Impact Absorber, Left
- Bolt w/Washer
- 23 Nm (17 ft lb)
- Impact Absorber, Right
- Nut w/Washer
- 23 Nm (17 ft lb)
- Bumper w/Cover
Removing:
-- Remove fog light assembly, where applicable.
-- Remove retaining clip FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Remove trim FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Remove bolts w/washer FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Unclip bumper ends from guide piece.
-- Remove bumper ends downward and out of guide piece.
-- Pry bumper ends over wheel opening and remove toward front.
Installing:
-- Carefully pry bumper over edge of wheel opening.
-- Guide bumper onto impact absorbers and into guide piece.
NOTE:Bumper ends must be pushed as far as possible up to wheel opening. They may be adjusted in or out by turning the inside tube of impact absorber. One turn of tube will alter distance 1.0 mm (0.039 in.). After adjustment trim strips must be adjusted to fit bumper.
-- Install bolts w/washer FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Install trim FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Install clip FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY.
-- Install fog light assembly, when applicable.
