Drive Plate, Removing And Installing: Installing

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Place the drive plate -1- with washer -2- next without the shim -A- and tighten the bolts -3- to 30 Nm.

-- Check the dimension between the drive plate and cylinder block at three positions, then measure through the holes of the drive plate.

-- Determine the average.

Specified value:

• When measuring on the milled surface of the cylinder block: 19.5 to 21.1 mm.
• When measuring on the intermediate plate: 18.8 to 20.4 mm.

If the Specified Value is Not Reached:

-- Remove the drive plate again, position the shim -A-, and tighten the bolts -3- to 30 Nm.

-- Repeat the measurement.

If Specified Value is Obtained:

-- Tighten the bolts with an additional turn by inserting the Flywheel Lock Adapter:VW 558  in the hole -B-.
